Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic is also a public speaking event organizer. Feminist Frequency was established by Sarkeesian. It hosts video clips featuring commentary and analysis of gender representations in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic, blogger and a prestigious feminist for more than 10 years. Feminist Frequency examines the way women are represented in pop culture. As well as working to expose the issues surrounding the harassment and targeted attack on women and other minorities in online spaces she is committed to breaking down stereotypes that are in the popular culture. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in the field of political and social thought from York University. As a public speaker, she's well-known and has been a speaker at TEDxWomenXOXO and the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was launched in 2009 by Sarkeesian. a University student who has been fascinated by issues that concern gender and feminism for a considerable period of period of. She was a young woman with a dream to develop an online series which would explore gender representations in video games. But, she was victimized by online harassment. However, the attacks did not dissuade her. She was only able to strengthen her position as a journalist who is feminist. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards to recognize her significant contributions to the world of feministism. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her work as a critic of media and founded Feminist Frequency. The non-profit examines how women are depicted in popular culture of today.
